Weavers
The late Peter Collingwood is a master weaver who has made a significant contribution to the world of weaving. He died in October 2008. I use his book The Techniques of Rug Weaving as a valuable source of information. His website is a bit out of date now but may be still worth visiting.
Another weaver whose work I admire very much is Jacqueline James. She is a skilled textile artist. Her designs are unique and her work can be seen in Westminster Abbey among many other places.
Jason Collingwood produces a wide range of bold geometrical design rugs and also teaches both in the UK and the USA.
Weavers in Wales
Riita Sinkkonen Davies is a textile artist based in Pembrokeshire in south-west Wales. She makes floor rugs, table linens, pictures, hangings and scarves.
Martin & Nina Weatherhead produce exclusive handwoven rugs, etc. and they provide courses on weaving, spinning and dyeing (accommodation provided) in Wales.
Shirley Elwell is also based in Wales. She makes rugs from hand spun yarn and also teaches hand weaving.
